'B C E U' --> Pointing towards the future (...)

Right now, never mind what the letters stand for...the future is f*cked unless we get some sensibility rolling forward. I spend a considerable amount of time on an Ambient web site; scrolling, reading, absorbing...and contributing.

When a homogeneous community starts reviewing each other's work, there is a distinct tendency to 'sugar coat' the review and say nothing constructive: 'This is a fabulous CD', 'A stunning offering',
"A wildly inventive, twisting ride' ---even when the disc's pure crap!!

I recently reviewed the prelim-copy of a disc by a prominent Ambient artist...with the new disc on headphones and his previous disc on boombox, simultaneously...and I let him know what the ultimate goal was:
"I do not want a REAL critic to say 'this sounds just like _______'s LAST offering with a few added percussive beats and new/altered synth work'" AND he took it to heart and alterd the face of the music (for the better, believe me!).

What we need are few more "this SUCKS!!" reviews - to stop the churnig out of doggie-doo as music.
